"Delightful Surprise"
Four adults stayed at this hotel April 4-8th. After having read some of the reviews we were somewhat apprehensive about our stay at the Marriott Munich. What a shock. We found this hotel conveniently located to the tram, bakery and supermarket (a few blocks away). It took about 5 - 10 minutes to get to the Marienplatz. The staff, without exception, could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. They even called each room after check-in to see if we were pleased with our room and if there was anything they could do for us. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and the beds were an absolute delight. We feel very fortunate that this was the hotel that accepted our bid on Priceline and would absolutely stay there again.

"Comfortable and standard Marriott hotel"
I visit Munich at the height of the Football World Cup 2007. It was the night which Germany beat Argentina and the city went absolutely wild, there was police everywhere.
The Marriott on Google Maps looks absolutely depressing. Way far from the center of the city in a very non-touristy place. The reality is although there are not much around the area to do, it only takes 5-10 minutes by underground train to reach Marienplatz. All the while, you can escape the hustle bustle of the city center and relax at night. The Nordfriedhof underground entrance is about 2 blocks away from the hotel and a quick 4 minutes walk will get you there.
The hotel itself is located near a highway but if you can get a room facing the local street then it is a very quiet place to be. The room is a standard Marriott style. The king bed that I had was large and soft. There is a small tea table and chair for those who like to have tea by the window. The room is nicely appointed but nothing strikingly special. The wall however is a bit thin from the inside so you may hear a bit more noise than usual.
The bathroom is an decent size with nice amenities better quality than what we have on this side of the ocean.
Since I try to look up for a room pretty late, nothing much was available inside the city but I found an absolutely crazy deal at the Marriott for $100 USD/night in July in the middle of the World Cup so my value point maybe a bit skewed here compare to other reviewers. As such I readjust the value point to 4 instead of 5.

"Solid choice and would stay there again"
Probably the most comfortable bed I've slept in for quite some time! Very welcome after flying from the States and in need of a good rest.
The hotel is in a great location - a quick, short walk to the U-Bahn station which takes you to Marienplatz in just minutes. It's in a quiet residential area, with the usual Marriott amenities.
For a personal stay, having to pay $19 Euros/day for internet access really stinks. It's definitely targeting the business traveler in this regard, but otherwise suited our needs just fine.

"Predictable quality"
Stayed 3 times in this place in 2005 - 2007. Each time was absolutely satisfied - very nice, comfortable rooms, good location, helpful staff. The pool and gym area are also nice and clean.
The hotel is next to U-Bahn station, it takes about 15 minutes to the historical center.
The hotel is perfect for both business and tourism travelers. I will try to stay there if I go to Munich again.

"Mums the word for Marriott Munich"
My choice of hotels in Europe is always Marriott which have been very impressive, but the Marriott Munich was very dissappointing. The hotel is your average 3 star hotel such as a Holiday Inn but very expensive. The actual city center of Munich for tourism is no where near this hotel, you must take the subway or a cab. The hotel staff was kind and the breakfast was good. The Champions Restaruant (American style food) in the lobby was very understaffed when I was there and the food was really not very good at all and very expensive. The only reason I would recommend staying at this hotel is if you had business at the Munich Olympic Stadium or you wanted to be able to jump on Autobahn 9 very quickly to leave Munich to the North. If you are coming to Munich for tourism look for another hotel in the city center, the prices are going to be the same anyway. The gym and pool for this hotel are not usual Marriott standard either. Cheers.

"Very Good hotel close to the subway
Hotel is not within walking distance of any sites worth visiting. However, it is located in a very safe, residential area about 5 minutes (walk) away from the next subway station (direct line to the Marienplatz, city hall, etc.). A supermarket is on your way to the subway. Very Good weekend rates, fresh hotel with a very nice lobby and helpful staff. Guest rooms were modernized and are offering all your Marriott standards including a handsome American buffet breakfast and a Champions sports bar. Nice, well-equipped health club. Across the Marriott - even closer to the subway - there is the Renaissance hotel. I would go for the better rate at either hotel, because both hotels are playing in the same league(the Renaissance has nice courtyard rooms with balconies as a plus, however it is lacking an indoor pool).
