"Good Value, Location"
We stayed at the Marriott property a block over last year in Munich and found it roomier and dressier for just a few Euros more. The Renaissance, however, is a good value for the money. The room was clean, not cramped - the bathroom more than adequate. The breakfast buffet, which was included in our package, was excellent. Although this is not a downtown hotel, getting downtown is a straight shot on the Metro, with a station only a block from the hotel. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Overall, this is a good place to stay.

"Great Stay"
While in Munich over Easter, our family of four stayed at this hotel and loved it. The accomodations were very nice and it was less than a block away from the U-Bahn. I would recoomend upgrading to a suite if it isn't too much more money (ours was 97 euros per night with breakfast versus 79 for a regular room). This was really a two room suite and could have easily accomodated our family of four. The beds and bedding were very luxurious. Other than breakfast being very expensive, I would highly recommend this place. It was terrific.

"What a hotel should be."
This is an excellent hotel and provides what many do not; competent and efficient service, excellent rooms, good food and a relaxed environment. We travelled with out five year old and found it very family friendly - which is unusual for this category of hotel.
The location is also very good. It is just off the A9 and about 4km from centre. Munich tends to be very "touristy" towards the centre, so this area provides you with a better flavour of the city. You can walk to the main park in ten minutes and within 2 km there are a nice variety of restaurants - especially on Leopold Strasse. There is also a U-Bahn close by so that you can get in the City Centre if you wish – the best time to do this would be early Sunday morning because, as I indicated above, it really is a little bit of tourist trap.

"Good Family Alternative for Munich (Munchen)"
If you are traveling with children, this is a good alternative hotel for Munich. The suites can accomodate up to a family of four comfortably and will run around 120 euros including breakfast for all, which is cheaper than booking 2 rooms elsewhere and having to pay for breakfast. You can catch the subway (U6, about a 2 minute walk from the hotel door) to Marienplatz (Munich's City Center, Hofbrau House etc.. 10 minute ride). Parking is 13 euros and is located under the hotel. Rooms are nice and clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly. |
